We activate everyday creators, our “hummingbirds” to generate authentic, localized user-generated content (UGC) that supports retailer visibility, drives social proof, and helps brand teams do more without adding to their plate. Our platform replaces high-cost influencer models with a scalable, turnkey solution for activating shoppers and collecting usable content across key markets.

Most importantly, we’ve helped democratize influence and know that people crave real recommendations from their friends. While influencers are amazing, we believe there’s also space for everyday people to share their favorite brands and secure collaborations, even without five-figure follower counts. At the heart of it all is our commitment to building stronger, more connected local communities, where everyone has a voice and a chance to make an impact.
Our Sales Team Composition
Our sales team consists of five AEs and one SDR who exceeded their 2025 targets! The AE team is supported by both inbound and outbound SDR motions that are already delivering real revenue impact. With a single SDR sourcing meaningful Q4 pipeline that converted into closed-won revenue, we’re doubling down on what’s working and expanding the team to accelerate it! This role is part of a growing sales organization, with a defined path for promotion to an AE role within 6–8 months for SDRs who demonstrate readiness.
We operate lean, move fast, and are remote-first. While our HQ is in Des Moines, IA, the Sales team is fully distributed across Central, Eastern, and Atlantic time zones. Our reps also have the ability to travel throughout the year to key industry conferences -- not just to build pipeline and deepen relationships, but to represent Hummingbirds, stay familiar with the latest products from the most exciting CPG brands, and make sure our name shows up everywhere that matters!

Requirements
1+ years of cold calling experience in software sales; preferably SMB SaaS sales.
You’re a natural storyteller who can build trust quickly, connect brand goals to real-world solutions, and speak in buyer language, not just product jargon.
You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, paired with persuasive instincts and disciplined persistence.
You lead with curiosity and confidence while balancing thoughtfulness and urgency. You show buyers that you understand the retail and CPG world.
You have a track record of personal and professional excellence and thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments where high expectations are the norm and proactive reps rise to the top.
You’re structured, self-managed, and excellent at owning your book of contacts for the long haul.
You actively explore how tools like AI can streamline your workflow, improve personalization, and help you operate at a higher level.
Interview Process
We go through the same interview steps for all candidates to ensure equity in our hiring process. Our process is designed to learn as much about each candidate as possible, as well as to give candidates access to our team and learn about what it's like to be a team member at Hummingbirds. Topics will range from technical skills to problem-solving approaches and collaboration.

Pay and Benefits
The compensation for this role at 100% attainment is $77,200 USD ($55,000 base + variable bonus).
This is a high-impact commission structure with no cap to earn more as you exceed targets.
Other benefits include comprehensive health coverage, work from anywhere (100% remote workplace) and unlimited PTO.
